The upgraded system uses approximately 50% less electricity than the one it replaces.

In January 2025, Guy-Raymond made a significant investment in the installation of a CMG G36 granulator with a material conveying and dust removal system.
The new system replaced the Cumberland work-horse which had been granulating sprues and single polymer in-process plastic waste on site since 1974. The granulated material is then re-used in the injection moulding process to make new components, significantly reducing plastic waste.
The addition of the dust removal and conveying system has improved the quality of the material that is fed back into the machines and removed a manual handling operation, leading to a better working environment for the operators.
The upgraded system uses approximately 50% less electricity than the one it replaces, making this a worthwhile investment from both a financial and an environmental perspective.
The whole system has been performing well since it was installed and we hope that it will continue to produce quality granulate for many years to come! Many thanks to Piovan UK for supporting the project from order through to commissioning.
