In January 2025, Guy-Raymond made a significant investment in the installation of a CMG G36 granulator with a material conveying and dust removal system.<\/p>\n

The new system replaced the Cumberland work-horse which had been granulating sprues and in-process plastic parts on site since 1974. The granulated material is then re-used in the\u00a0injection moulding<\/a>\u00a0process to make new components, significantly reducing plastic waste going to Landfill.<\/p>\n

The addition of the dust removal plus conveying system has improved the quality of the material that is fed back into the machines and has removed a manual handling operation, leading to a better working environment for the operators.<\/p>\n

The upgraded system uses approximately 50% less electricity than the one it replaces, making this a worthwhile investment from both a financial and an environmental perspective.<\/p>\n
