The subcomponents are all manufactured from stainless steel, as well as offering excellent corrosion resistance it is also less magnetic than standard mild steel. A number of threaded and circlip stems are available, offering various fixing possibilities.

For MRI applications, Guy-Raymond can offer brass fittings which are non-magnetic. Important for specific areas around magnetic resonance imaging equipment. The brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, offering similar strength and durability to the standard castors incorporating mild steel bright zinc plated subcomponents.
